The Land of Lincoln

The first state I’ll start off with is our home state of Illinois to Matthiessen State Park. This was a more recent trip that we went on during the summer. Matthiessen State Park is right next to the more popular Starved Rock State Park. We had already gone to Starved Rock about 2 years before but didn’t stay overnight. I will talk about both since you can easily visit the two in one trip. Starved Rock State Park is in Oglesby, Illinois. They have some pretty cool waterfalls and trails that are in a canyon. People actually have weddings at one of the waterfall locations! We hiked for about 7 miles here with the dogs but there are shorter trails and loops. The main trails go through the canyon and past the waterfalls. They are pretty modernized and have actual stairs in a lot of places instead of just pathways to walk up. The Start of My Blogging Adventure

Hello! Do you love to travel? Love your dogs and need to take them everywhere with you? If you said yes, this blog is for you! My name is Kaitlyn and my husband, Aaron, and I are on a mission to visit all 50 states. I love road trips because I like to stop at all the cool and weird roadside attractions that you would only want to see if you were on a road trip (AKA the world's largest ball of stamps in Omaha, Nebraska). A big bonus of road trips is that we get to bring our three dogs everywhere we go. We didn't start off bringing our dogs, but we soon figured out that we miss them too much when we're gone and it's SUPER hard to find a babysitter for three crazy dogs. The three crazy dogs on Halloween this year - Liberty (The Hulk), Jasmine (princess), and Sophia (witch) I also wanted to start this blog because before I go on a trip, I do a TON of research.
